Davidson, George Washington, La Salle Earn Weekly Swimming and Diving Awards

WASHINGTON – Davidson senior Dylan Felt received Atlantic 10 Conference Under Armour Men’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week and La Salle freshman Blaise Hoffman collected Men’s Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday. George Washington senior Ava Topolewski earned Atlantic 10 Conference Under Armour Women’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week, while Davidson freshman Frances Bohner was tabbed as Women’s Rookie of the Week. The awards are for competitions from Jan. 26 to Feb. 1.  

In Davidson’s win over Gardner-Webb, Felt won three events including the 1000-yard freestyle. He collected gold in the 1,000-free while recording the fastest time in the A-10 this season 9:04.28. The Fort Lauderdale, FL native also won the 100-yard freestyle in 44.60 and the 500-yard freestyle in 4:30.15. 

Hoffman, a Doyleston, PA native, collected gold in the 200-yard backstroke and silver in the 100-yard backstroke against Monmouth. He won the 200-back with a time of 1:48.25, which ranks fourth in the conference. Hoffman swam a time of 50.12 in the 100-back.  

Topolewski finished in first place in two events in George Washington’s meet against Penn State. The Grand Prairie, TX native, won the 1000-yard free (9:53.01) and won the 500-yard free (4:50.77). Topolewski holds the second fastest time in the conference for both events. 

Bohner, a Chattanooga, TN native, won the 1,000-yard free for the Wildcats in their victory over Gardner-Webb. She collected gold in the event in 10:27.26. Her 1,000-free time ranks 11th best in the conference.
