WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference named Dayton graduate student Danny MacDougall as its Under Armour Baseball Player of Week, while Davidson senior Ed Hall collected Pitcher of the Week. Dayton freshman Jason Bello and George Mason freshman shared Rookie of the Week. The league announced its awards on Tuesday, for games played from Feb. 16 – 22.
MacDougall led Dayton with a .636 batting average, going 7-for-11 in 3-0 series against Eastern Kentucky. MacDougall, an infielder and outfielder from Taunton, MA, connected four doubles and snagged five stolen bases.
Hall, a right-handed pitcher, pitched five shutout innings for the Wildcats in a 1-0 win over Fairfield Friday. The Rochester, NY native struck out a career-best 10 while surrendering one walk and two hits in his relief appearance. Hall contributed to Davidson’s combined shutout of Fairfield.
Bello, a Fort Myers, FL native, compiled a .400 batting average in Dayton’s series against Eastern Michigan. The sophomore infielder went 4 for 10, scoring six runs and tallying two home runs.
In the Swing & Swine College Classic, Bagnerise compiled a .500 BA with two extra base hits and seven RBI. He scored three runs across George Mason’s games against Seton Hall and Ball State. The Manassas, VA native, connected for his first collegiate triple and drove in three runs in a 6-1 win over Ball State.
