WASHINGTON – Davidson senior Dylan Felt was named Atlantic 10 Men’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week, while his freshman teammate Henry Shoemaker was tabbed as Rookie of the Week. Davidson junior Elle Jacobsen earned A-10 Women’s Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week, while Saint Louis freshman Anya Brueggeman collected Rookie of the Week. The awards, which are the first of the season, were announced on Tuesday.
Against Queens Saturday, Felt earned gold in the 500-yard freestyle (4:44.82) and the 1,000-yard free (9:43.07). His 100-free time is tied first in the A-10 and his 200-free is the fastest in the conference. Felt, a Ft. Lauderdale, FL native, holds the 11th best time in Division I in the 200-free.
Shoemaker won two events against Queens for the Wildcats. The Sarasota, FL native won the 500-yard free with a time of 4:44.82 and the 1,000-yard free in 9:43.07. Shoemaker holds the fastest times in the conference for both events so far this season.
Jacobsen posted the top diving scores in the 1-meter and 3-meter events. She won the 1-meter with a score of 271.45 and the 3-meter with a time of 276.00. Jacobsen, a Melbourne, FL native, holds the highest score in both events in Division I.
Brueggeman helped lead Saint Louis to a 143.5-137.5 victory over Washington University in Saint Louis. She finished second in the 200 free (1:56.99) and placed third in the 50 free (24.85). Brueggeman swam a conference-best 53.25 leading off the 400 free relay. She also anchored SLU's winning 200-medley relay team (1:46.65).
