George Mason Wins Fifth A-10 Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championship

FAIRFAX, Va. -- George Mason captured the 2025 Atlantic 10 Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Championship with 173.5 points, winning their fifth overall A-10 title. The Men’s Coach of the Year Andrew Gerard led the Patriots to their first crown since 2019.  

The Rhode Island Rams, who won the previous four titles, finished in second place with 172. VCU placed in third (93) followed by Massachusetts (91.5), Duquesne (62), Fordham (62), Saint Louis (59), Saint Joseph’s (53), Loyola Chicago (30), Davidson (26), La Salle (18), George Washington (15) and St. Bonaventure (0).  

Njam Abdul-Latif of Fordham won the Men’s Most Outstanding Track and Most Outstanding Rookie awards after he won gold in the 200-meter dash. He finished with a time of 21.17 and earned silver in the 100M (10.51).  

Geni Roberts of George Mason and John Casper of VCU shared Men’s Co-Most Outstanding Field Performers. Roberts won gold in the long jump and the triple jump. Roberts clinched the long jump with a mark of 7.58M. He also broke the record in the triple jump with a distance of 15.64M. Casper earned gold in the discus and hammer. He won the discus with a mark of 48.74M and hammer with a mark of 62.57M.  

George Mason’s championship title was led by gold medals in the long jump, triple jump, 400M Hurdles, 4x100M relay and 4x400M relay. The Patriots won the 4x100M relay in 40.34 and the 4x400M relay in 3:11.03. Joziah Johnson won the 400M Hurdles in 51.10.  

Rhode Island had three gold medal winners. Theo Puterbaugh won the shot put (17.84M), URI’s Ryan Tona earned gold in the decathlon (7,080 points) and Mason Brubaker finished first in the pole vault (5.00M).  

VCU’s Emmanuel Oche won the Men’s 100M in 10.38 and his teammate Jaiden Oglesby finished first in the high jump (2.01M).  

Jayden Smith of Davidson broke the 110M Hurdles record. He set his new time in 13.39. 

Other first place finishers were Michael Bohlke of George Washington in the 1500M (3:48.82), Sam Lamaze of Saint Louis in the 400M (47.25) and James Lawrence in the 5000M (14:15.04).  

Saint Joseph’s collected gold in the Men’s 4x800M Relay in 7:31.88.
