WASHINGTON – Fordham secured the No. 1 seed in the Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Tennis Championship. The league announced the seedings on Monday ahead of the 2025 championship. The A-10 Women’s Tennis Championship starts Thursday, April 24th at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.
The Fordham Rams captured one of the three first-round byes. Fordham is 4-0 against A-10 opponents and 15-4 overall. The Rams will face the outcome of the No. 8 Dayton and No. 9 George Washington matchup on Friday, April 25th at 9 a.m.
Massachusetts secured the No. 2 seed and will also have a first-round bye. The Minutewomen will face the winner of the No. 7 Davidson and No. 10 Saint Joseph’s matchup. UMass will face the winner of No. 7 Davidson/ No. 10 Saint Joseph’s Friday at 11:30 a.m. The Minutewomen were 4-0 against A-10 teams and 11-6 overall.
Richmond locked up the No. 3 seed and final first-round bye. The Spiders will face the outcome of the No. 6 Duquesne and No. 11 George Mason matchup. Richmond and the victor of No. 6 Duquesne/ No. 11 George Mason will meet Friday at 11:30 a.m. Richmond finished 6-2 in the conference and 14-6 overall.
The championship begins Thursday at 9 a.m. with No. 8 Dayton facing No. 9 George Washington and No. 4 Rhode Island against No. 13 St. Bonaventure. Those matches will be followed by the 11: 30 a.m. slate of No. 5 VCU versus No. 12 Saint Louis and No. 6 Duquesne and No. 11 George Mason. The first round will conclude with No. 7 Davidson against No. 10 Saint Joseph’s at 2 p.m.
The victors of Rhode Island/ St. Bonaventure and VCU/Saint Louis will meet in Friday’s quarterfinals at 9 a.m.
The semifinals are slated for Saturday at 9 a.m. with the championship set for Sunday at 10 a.m. All rounds will be streamed on the USTA website, which will allow viewers to select the court they want to watch.
The 2025 Atlantic 10 Women’s Tennis champion will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
