VCU Picked to Win Atlantic 10 Men’s Golf Championship

WASHINGTON — VCU men’s golf has been selected to win the 2024 Atlantic 10 Championship in the league’s annual Championship Poll, which was released Thursday.
 
The Rams garnered eight first-place votes in the poll, which was conducted among the league’s head golf coaches. VCU, which totaled with 138 points in the poll, won the 2019 championship three straight A-10 titles from 2014 to 2016.
 
Three-time defending champion Davidson was picked second in the poll with 131 points and three first-place votes. Richmond finished third in the poll with 120 points and one first-place selection.
 
George Washington finished fourth in the poll with 92 points and one first place vote, followed by Dayton and George Mason tied for fifth with 89 points. Rhode Island was seventh with 72 points, and Loyola Chicago was eighth with 65 points.
 
La Salle was ninth with 57 points, followed by St. Bonaventure (38 points) in 10th. Saint Joseph’s (28) and Fordham (18) rounded out the poll.

The 2024 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship begins Friday, April 26 at the new Evermore Resort in Orlando, Fla. The 12 A-10 golf teams will play 18 holes per day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Practice rounds are slated for Thursday. Admission to the Atlantic 10 Golf Championship is free. The winner of the 54-hole event will receive the Atlantic 10's automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals
