WASHINGTON – Rhode Island sophomore Luke Stennett was named the Atlantic 10 Under Armour Men’s Golfer of the Week, while La Salle freshman Kyle Virsik earned Rookie of the Week. Dayton junior Kylee Heidemann and Loyola Chicago freshman Teagan Connors were named Under Armour Women’s Golfer of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively. The awards were announced Tuesday.  

Stennett won his second individual title in as many events by topping the 75-player, 15-team field at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate. He was 9-under par for the two-round tournament, finishing four strokes ahead of the second-place finisher. Stennett, a Portland, Conn. Native, contributed to Rhode Island's second straight team title this season. This is Stennett's second consecutive Player of the Week award.

Virsik led the Explorers to a tied for first finish at the Temple Invitational. The Melbourne, FL native was the best ranked freshman in the field. He shot 73-71-68 over the three rounds and tied for third. Virsik also ranked in the top three in par three scoring and sixth in overall pars made.  

Heidemann led the Flyers in their season opener at Illinois State's Redbird Invitational with her 12th-place finish. She opened the 54-hole event with a one-over-par round of 73 and was Dayton's lowest scorer all three rounds. Heidemann, a Cincinnati, OH native, posted her first career top-five finish at Ball State’s Brittany Kelly Classic. With a three-over-par three-round total, she finished in a tie for third place and was named to the Brittany Kelly Classic All-Tournament Team. 

Connors, a native of New Orleans, LA, finished second on the Rambler squad and tied for 17th on the individual leaderboards at the Velvet Classic. Her second-round score of 71 marked a personal best. She finished +12 over the three rounds with a score of 228 (77-71-80).
