D'Ippolito's Hat-Trick Pushes No. 5 Fordham to #A10MSOC Semifinals

PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- Fordham midfielder Daniel D'Ippolito scored three times in the second half to lead No. 5 Fordham past No. 4 Duquesne in the Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Quarterfinals.

D'Ippolito nothced his second hat-trick of the season and first by anyone in the Atlantic 10 Championship since Fordham's own Eric Ohlendorf in 2016 to lead the Rams to its first Semifinal since 2021. The juniors goals came in the 46th, 62nd and 75th minute to break the halftime scoreless tie. He becomes the eighth player all time to record a hat-trick in the A-10 Championship. 

Fordham and Duquesne were even on shots in the game, while the Rams had double the amount of shots on goal, 6-3. Carter Abbott and a stout Fordham defense held the Dukes scoreless, with Abbott notching three saves. 

The first two of D'Ippolito's goals were unassisted, while his last one was assisted by Kamran Mojabi and Bennett Leitner. 

The Rams now advance to face No. 2 Dayton in the Semifinals on Wednesday, November 13 at 7:00 ET. Fordham handed Dayton its last loss on October 12.
