WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has announced its weekly honors in men’s soccer. The awards are for games played from October 5-11.
 
Co-Offensive Players of the Week: Cody Da (Sr., Rockville, Md.), Duquesne
                                                           Maksim Kalina (2^nd Year, Calgary, Alberta), Rhode Island
Defensive Player of the Week: Winston Jory (Jr., Brisbane, Australia), St. Bonaventure
Rookie of the Week: Lean Husterer (1^st Year, Frankfurt, Germany), Rhode Island
 
Cody Da helped Duquesne earn its first win over Dayton in 20 years, playing a role in all three goals of a 3-1 victory on Saturday. The senior forward tallied two goals and an assist in a five-point performance. After scoring early in the first half, Da found teammate Jaxon Ervin for the game-winning goal. He sealed the result with a shot to the lower right side of the goal in the second half.
 
Maksim Kalina provided a crucial spark off the bench for Rhode Island in a battle for first place in the league standings, scoring two goals including the game-winner in Rhode Island’s 4-3 win over Fordham. After entering the game at halftime, the sophomore defensive midfielder recorded a timely goal to give the Rams a 3-2 lead in the 72^nd minute. Fordham tied the game soon after, but Kalina responded with his second goal of the night – this time marking the game-winner.
 
Winston Jory made five pivotal saves to help St. Bonaventure earn a 1-0 road shutout victory against Saint Joseph’s on Saturday. His biggest stop of the afternoon came in the 81^st minute, when the Hawks had a one-on-one situation in front of the net. Jory came off his line to make a sliding save and secure the shutout.
 
Lean Husterer played a key role in both of Rhode Island’s wins last week, finding the back of the net twice. The German defender recorded the first goal of his collegiate career in the Rams’ 3-1 win over Davidson on Wednesday, before adding another goal to get Rhody on the board during the team’s 4-3 victory at Fordham.
