NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference named Dayton senior Manny Day as the league’s Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week while Flyers junior teammate Dario Caetano locked down Defensive Player of the Week. Additionally, Davidson freshman Denis Krioutchenkov earned recognition as Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday following the conclusion of the fifth week of contests played Sept. 19-25.

Day, a forward out of Grandview Heights, Ohio, scored the game-winning goal in the Flyers' road victory over Rhode Island this past Saturday, tying the team mark with four goals on the season. The senior striker struck in the 42nd minute with a header over the keeper, notching what proved to be the decisive goal and en route to Dayton maintaining its unbeaten on the campaign.

Caetano collected a career-high seven saves in his road shutout victory at Rhode Island this past week, earning his fourth clean-sheet of the season. With an unbeaten record of 6-0-1 on the year, the Portuguese import has been the steady force for the Dayton defense, helping the Flyers post the second-best goal differential in the nation.

Krioutchenkov finished with a pair of goals as the Wildcats compiled a pair of shutout victories, initially downing Radford by a 5-0 margin in non-conference play before knocking off George Mason over the weekend. The Milwaukee, Wisc., native’s first score came off a PK in Davidson's early-week dismantling of Radford before later capping the two-game stretch with the eventual game-winner in the 'Cats' first league win of the season, a 2-0 victory over the Patriots.
