NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference selected George Washington senior Anthony Frechette along with Davidson sophomore Ryan Wilson as the league’s Baseball Co-Players of the Week. Additionally, George Washington redshirt senior Harrison Cohen received the nod for Pitcher of the Week honors while Rhode Island freshman Eric Genther captured his first Rookie laurels. The awards were announced Monday following the conclusion of the seventh week of contests played April 4-10.

Frechette, a product of West Chester, Pa., served as an invaluable asset for the Colonials this week both behind the plate and in the batter’s box this week, catching every inning of action as George Washington closed out the four-game stretch with a split 2-2 mark and a series victory over Dayton. At the plate, the senior averaged .562 with a .938 slugging percentage behind nine total hits – including a trio of doubles and a three-run bomb – en route to finishing with six RBI, three walks and six runs scored.

Wilson composed yet-another showcase for the Wildcats, earning his third A-10 Player of the Week as Davidson picked up two out of three in a tough road series at VCU. Overall, the sophomore hit .500 during the weekend stretch, opening the series with a two-run homer along with an RBI-double in Friday's narrow loss. The Durham, N.C., native helped right the ship with a double and a steal of home in Saturday's 7-2 win before pacing the offense with a 3-of-4 day in Sunday's 7-2 rubber match victory.

Hailing from Syosset, N.Y., Cohen lived up to his billing as GW's Friday night starter, hurling a gem to pick up the 9-1 win against Dayton. The redshirt senior tossed 8.0 scoreless innings in a dominant performance on the mound, allowing just five hits and two walks while setting down 11 batters on strikes, good for a tie of his career-high.

Genther, an outfielder out of Drexel Hill, Pa., compiled nine hits, six RBI and two runs scored across a split 2-2 week for Rhode Island, helping the Rams take the series win against St. Bonaventure as he batted .474 with a .545 on-base percentage and a .789 slugging percentage. Notably, the freshman extended his reached base streak out to 10 games, picking up at least one hit in each his four appearances this week.
