Saint Joseph's sophomore catcher Blake Primrose earned a pair of All-America honors on Friday as he was tabbed for both the American Baseball Coaches Association and
Baseball America Third Teams.
Added to his National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Second Team selection earlier in the week, Primrose becomes the first Hawk in program history to earn multiple non-freshman postseason All-America honors in the same season. He is also just the second Hawk to earn three All-America nods of any kind in a career; Deon Stafford, Jr., earned
Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Freshman All-America honors in 2015 and a Third Team selection in 2016 in addition to an honorable mention from Rawlings in 2016.
The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native joins Mike Migliarese (1990) and Collin Forgey (2014) as the third ABCA All-America honoree in program history; all three were named to the Third Team.
The NCBWA District 1 Co-Player of the Year, Primrose turned in an all-time great 2026 season, earning Atlantic 10 Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors as well as a nod for the ABCA All East Region First Team and the All-ECAC Team. He was also named one of 16 semifinalists for the Buster Posey Award, given to the nation's top collegiate catcher.
Primrose set new single-season program records with 24 home runs, 78 runs scored, and 72 runs batted in, while his 48 walks are the second-most hy a Hawk in a single season and his 81 hits are tied for third. He was a three-time A-10 Player of the Week honoree, was tabbed for the
Baseball America Team of the Week on April 14, and was named the NCBWA's National Hitter of the Month for April.
