CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL  //  BRACKET

ST. LOUIS – For the second-straight year, top-seeded George Washington and second-seeded Xavier will battle for the Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Tennis Championship crown. The Colonials will go head-to-head with the three-time defending champion Musketeers on Sunday, April 17 at 11:00AM at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis, Mo.

George Washington earned the first spot in tomorrow’s championship match, defeating fourth-seeded Duquesne, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon at Sunset Tennis Center in Sappington, Mo. The Colonials fought their way to a pair of doubles wins at the number two (8-5) and three (8-3) tandem positions, before cruising to three consecutive straight set singles victories to clinch the decisive win.

Xavier dropped the doubles point to Temple, falling at the first and third tandem spots, but rallied in four-hard fought singles matches to collect the triumph and advance to the finals for the seventh-straight year.

Action commences at 8:00AM on Sunday as No. 5 St. Bonaventure takes on No. 6 Charlotte in the fifth-place match, while No. 8 Saint Joseph’s meets No. 7 Richmond in the seventh-place contest. The third-place match features No. 3 Temple and No. 4 Duquesne at 11:00AM. All of Sunday’s matches will be played at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center.
