Saint Joseph’s Clinches Regular Season Title, Top Seed for 2026 A-10 Baseball Championship

WASHINGTON – Saint Joseph’s secured the Atlantic 10 Conference regular season title and clinched the No. 1 seed for next week’s A-10 Baseball Championship at Capital One Park in Tysons, Va. The six-team double-elimination tournament begins Wednesday, May 20 and will conclude with the championship final on Saturday, May 23, all streamed on ESPN+.

After erasing a six-run deficit in the ninth inning to take down Rhode Island 14-12 in Saturday’s regular season finale, Saint Joseph’s enters the A-10 Championship with a 35-18 overall record, 25-5 in conference play. The Hawks receive a first-round bye and will play the winner between No. 4 seed George Mason and fifth-seeded Rhode Island on Thursday, May 21 at 11 a.m. ET.

Richmond earned the No. 2 overall seed, finishing with a 33-22 overall record and a 20-10 mark in league play. Tied with VCU in the conference standings, Richmond won the tiebreaker with a 2-1 head-to-head record against the Rams. Securing the second first-round bye, the Spiders will face the winner between No. 3 seed VCU and sixth-seeded Davidson on Thursday, May 21 at 3 p.m. ET.

VCU finished the regular season with a 32-22 overall record, going 20-10 in conference play to earn the No. 3 seed. The Rams will battle No. 6 seed Davidson (25-26, 16-14 A-10) in the second game of the championship, slated for 3 p.m. ET on Wednesday, May 20.

George Mason received the No. 4 seed with a 28-24 overall record and an 18-12 mark in A-10 play. The Patriots enter postseason play on a five-game win streak, facing No. 5 seed and defending champion Rhode Island (23-29, 16-14 A-10) to open the championship at 11 a.m. ET on Wednesday, May 20.
