DAVIDSON, N.C. – Staving off a second-half rally by the Revolutionaries, No. 3 seed St. Bonaventure took down No. 6 seed George Washington, 10-8, on Thursday at Davidson College Stadium in the first round of the 2026 Betterment Atlantic 10 Women’s Lacrosse Championship.

St. Bonaventure (11-7) led wire to wire, starting with an early goal from senior Rylee Gonzalez. A-10 Rookie of the Year Mia Milkowski found the back of the net for George Washington (9-8) late in the first quarter, but a string of Bonnies scores opened their advantage to five. The Revolutionaries scored the last two goals of the first half, but St. Bonaventure went into the break with a 7-4 lead.

Two goals from Milkowski – one on a free position opportunity – brought the Revolutionaries within two heading into the fourth quarter. The rally continued with a goal by George Washington sophomore Mimi Walters, making the score 8-7. The Bonnies regrouped quickly, though, as Sidney Van Tassel and Megan Schillinger converted free position shots to put the game out of reach.

Three players tallied multiple goals for the Bonnies – Schillinger, Van Tassel, Grace Hollenbeck, and Brooke Piper – while goalie Judy Mahoney made eight saves for a .500 save percentage. George Washington netminder Gabi Greth recorded the same percentage on 10 saves. Milkowski led both teams with three goals for the day.

St. Bonaventure exceeded the Revolutionaries in shots (32-29), shots on goal (15-13), free position shots (7-6), ground balls (18-12), draw controls (12-8), and caused turnovers.

The Bonnies will face No. 2 seed VCU in the semifinals on Friday, May 1 at 3 p.m. ET.
