Saint Joseph's Athletics has announced a major facility enhancement to Sean Sweeney Field, the historic heart of Hawk Hill and home to the men's and women's lacrosse and soccer programs. This summer, the stadium was outfitted with a state-of-the-art AstroTurf system, reinforcing the University's commitment to providing a premier environment for Saint Joseph's student-athletes.

"Sweeney Field is a cornerstone of Hawk Hill, and this upgrade is a direct investment in the health, safety, and competitive excellence of our lacrosse and soccer programs," said Saint Joseph's University Vice President and Director of Athletics Ashwin Puri. "Partnering with an industry leader like AstroTurf ensures that our Saint Joseph's student-athletes will train and compete on the best multi-sport surface in the world."

The upgrade features a premium infilled dual-fiber polyethylene synthetic turf system. Engineered to replicate the feel and playability of natural grass, the new surface is specifically designed to meet the rigorous, multi-sport demands of Division I soccer and lacrosse.

The installation at Sweeney Field is currently underway and will be completed ahead of the upcoming men's and women's soccer seasons.
