WASHINGTON – Richmond senior Aidan O’Neil was named the Atlantic 10 Under Armour Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week, while his Spider teammate Nate Murphy was selected as Defensive Player of the Week honors. Hobart freshman Colman Craft earned Rookie of the Week honors. The awards were announced on Tuesday for games played from April 20-26.

O’Neil, an attacker from Centerville, Mass. Finished with five goals and one assist in Richmond’s 19-10 win over High Point. The performance marked his second five-goal game of the season and ninth game of the year with at least five points. O’Neil found the back of the net on five of his shot attempts, adding a ground ball as well.

Murphy disrupted the High Point offense on Friday, forcing three turnovers as the Spiders wrapped up a perfect 8-0 regular season record in league play. The defenseman from South Riding, Va. also scored his first career goal during the victory, contributing at both ends of the field.

Craft also provided a spark to his team’s defensive unit, forcing a game-high four caused turnovers to help Hobart beat St. Bonaventure 13-12 – breaking Hobart’s single-season record for caused turnovers in the process. Causing two turnovers in each half, the Pittsburgh native brough his season total to 28 – three more than the previous record. Craft already ranks 11th on Hobart’s all-time caused turnovers list.
