ORLANDO – George Mason surged into first place Tuesday, carding a one-under 287 in the second round to lead the field after 36 holes by four strokes at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Men’s Golf Championship at Evermore Orlando Resort’s Cypress Course.
Richmond’s Lucas Rizo-Patron was three under on Tuesday and is a combined seven under 137 (68-69), moving into first place. He leads VCU’s Carson Looney, the leader after day one, by one stroke. The field tightened up on day two, with just six strokes separating spots one through eight.
Richmond had the best round two team score, shooting a seven under 281 to move into a tie for second place with day one leader VCU. The Rams carded a 577 (285-292) equaling the Spiders’ 577 (296-281). Dayton is in fourth, four strokes out of second with a 581 (293-288). Rhode Island (583) and George Washington (584) are in fifth and sixth respectively, representing the top half of the field.
David Fuhrer, George Mason’s leader, is tied for eighth with a 143 (71-72). Vaughn McMeans is tied for 12
th with a 144 (70-74) and Uzair Mirza (77-68) is tied for 16
th with a 145. Mirza had the Patriots’ lowest round on day two with a 68. Phillipp Krone (72-74) and Vijay Powell (73-73) are both at 146, good for a tie for 19
th completing the GM scoring.
Looney has a 138 (67-71) to place second, with George Washington’s Maxime Lam (70-71), and Manuel Barbachano (71-70) tied for third with a 141. TJ Kreusch and Breckin Taylor of Dayton and Dori Lee from Loyola Chicago all had a 142 (73-69) to tie for fifth. A four-way deadlock for eighth place finished the top 10 scoring. Fuhrer, Richmond’s Quin Polin (72-71), Rhode Island’s Luke Stennett (74-69) and Saint Joseph’s George Williamson, Jr., (75-68) all carded a 143 to finish in that eighth spot.
Mirza and Williamson had the lowest second round scores with 68 and Looney’s round one 67 remains the best round of the tournament. There were six eagles in the second round, with La Salle’s Alexander Young, VCU’s Mason Minkel, Dayton’s Jacob Garland and Luke Kahle, Luke Stennett and Aidan O’Donovan of Rhode Island all tallying eagles Tuesday.
Loyola Chicago is in seventh with a 588 and Saint Joseph’s is eighth at 593. Davidson (601) and Fordham (603) are in ninth and 10
th. St. Bonaventure, which improved by a round-best 21 strokes, and La Salle closed out the field. Every team except one improved the scores over the first round, facing calmer conditions on Tuesday.
