ORLANDO, Fla. – VCU shot a three-under 285 to hold a one-stroke lead over George Mason after the first round of the 2026 Atlantic 10 Men’s Golf Championship at Evermore Orlando Resort. VCU’s Carson Looney is in first place with a five-under 67.
George Mason is in second with a two-under 286, and is led by Vaughn McMeans, who is tied for third with Geroge Washington’s Maxime Lam at 70. Dayton is in third with a 293, and GW is in fourth, carding a 295. Rhode Island and Richmond are tied for fifth with a 296.
VCU’s Braden O’Grady is tied for fifth with a 71, while the Mason Minkel finished third for the black and gold Rams, carding a 73 to place 14
th overall. Tanner Cadieux and Zach Felts each shot a 74 to tie for 21
st and round out the VCU scoring.
McMeans, O’Grady and William Howard of Fordham each recorded an Eagle on the course. O’Grady’s came on hole two, while McMeans and Howard scored theirs on hole 13.
Richmond’s Lucas Rizo-Patron is in second place, just one stroke behind Looney with a 68. Rhode Island’s Tyler Bruneau, George Mason’s David Fuhrer and Manuel Barbachano of GW all equaled O’Grady’s 71 to tie for fifth. Five players, Philipp Krone (George Mason), Sebastian Kasun (Loyola Chicago), Alexander Paschall (Davidson), Luke Kahle (Dayton) and Quin Polin (Richmond) all rounded out the top 10 scores with an even par 72, tying for ninth.
Loyola Chicago (298) is in seventh, followed by Saint Joseph’s and Davidson, which are tied for eighth with a 301. Fordham, La Salle and St. Bonaventure rounded out the final three team spots respectively.
