WASHINGTON — Richmond women’s lacrosse posted a perfect 9-0 record to win the Atlantic 10 Conference regular season title and will serve as the No. 1 overall seed for the A-10 Betterment Women’s Lacrosse Championship. The championship begins Thursday and concludes Sunday at Davidson College Stadium in Davidson, N.C.
The Spiders, ranked No. 22/24 nationally, closed out the 2026 campaign with a league-best 13-2 overall mark along with the unbeaten 9-0 record in conference competition, securing the program’s seventh regular-season title. UR, which has won two of the last three championships, will be seeking its eighth A-10 postseason crown. Richmond receives a bye into the semifinals and will open championship play Friday, May 1 at noon.
In addition to Richmond, second-seeded VCU earned an opening round bye into the semifinals with an 8-1 record against A-10 competition. The Rams are 12-4 overall and will see their first action of the championship at 3:00 pm on Friday afternoon.
St. Bonaventure won a three-team tiebreaker with Davidson and Saint Joseph’s on the basis of head-to-head goal differential. All three teams finished conference play at 6-3. The Bonnies garnered the third overall seed and were 10-7 overall, and will battle No. 6 George Washington at 3:00 pm on Thursday, April 30 in the opening round. The winner will face No. 2 VCU in Friday’s late semifinal matchup. The Revolutionaries finished with a 4-5 record in A-10 play and were 9-7 overall during the 2026 campaign.
Davidson slotted in as the No. 4 seed behind a 12-4 overall record, and will square off against No. 5 Saint Joseph’s at noon on Thursday for the right to challenge the top-seeded Spiders in the semifinals. The Hawks finished the season at 7-9 overall.
