WASHINGTON — The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Saint Joseph’s sophomore Gabby Casey the Under Armour Women’s Basketball Players of the Week. Saint Louis freshman Alyssa Koerkenmeier was chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced on Monday for games played from Feb. 16 - Feb. 22.

Casey led Saint Joseph’s to a 2-0 week, earning dominant victories against Duquesne and Saint Louis. The guard from Quakertown, Pa. averaged 17.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game, shooting 56.5 percent from the field, 66.7 percent from behind the arc, and 100 percent at the free throw line. Casey opened the week with a 19-point, nine-rebound performance against Duquesne, converting on 7-of-12 shots. She continued the strong stretch with 16 points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals at Saint Louis on Saturday, knocking down three triples.

Koerkenmeier continued her historic freshman campaign with another double double over the weekend, playing nearly the full 40 minutes for Saint Louis. The center from St. Rose, Ill. recorded 14 points and 12 rebounds – her 10^th double-double of the season, shooting 8-of-9 from the free throw line while pulling down eight offensive boards. With her performance, Koerkenmeier broke the Saint Louis freshman rebounding record and climbed into the top 10 in program history for single-season rebounds.

Davidson guard Katie Donovan led the Wildcats in scoring in a 2-0 week, pouring in 14 points at VCU before tallying 18 points against Dayton  … Duquesne freshman Alexis Bordas helped the Dukes earn its third win in four games, scoring 27 points on an 8-of-13 shooting day from the field while draining 7-of-9 attempts from behind the arc … George Mason’s Zahirah Walton finished the week with back-to-back 22-point performances against Loyola Chicago and George Washington, shooting 70-percent in the former matchup while collecting seven rebounds and three assists … Patriots rookie Mary Amoateng played a crucial role in all three George Mason victories last week, including a 12 point showing against George Washington … Richmond’s Maggie Doogan posted 16 points, six rebounds, and three assists in the Spiders’ win over La Salle on Saturday, knocking down four 3-pointers  … Richmond freshman Aneisha Scott scored a career-high 20 points against La Salle, shooting 7-of-9 from the field and 2-of-2 from behind the arc … St. Bonaventure guard Laycee Drake tallied 18 points, four rebounds, and three assists against Loyola Chicago on Saturday.
