HENRICO — The Atlantic 10 Conference looks to build off two momentous years and celebrate the league’s 50th anniversary, returning to the Henrico Sports & Events Center for the 2026 Women’s Basketball Championship. Starting today, fans can secure their seats by purchasing all-session championship ticket books, guaranteeing admission to all 13 games and seven sessions of the five-day event. Championship books are the most cost-effective way for fans to experience the championship.
The Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Basketball Championship returns to the Henrico Sports & Events Center in Henrico, Va., in the Richmond metro area, for the third consecutive year from March 4-8. The championship showcases all 14 A-10 programs with the league title and the conference’s automatic NCAA Tournament bid on the line.
“It’s an exciting moment to open the doors for fans to be part of the A-10’s 50th anniversary celebration right here in Henrico,” said Dennis Bickmeier, Executive Director of the Henrico Sports & Entertainment Authority. “The championship promises an unforgettable week of basketball, and all-session passes are the best way to take it all in.”
The first round session will be played on Wednesday, March 4 and includes two games, the first beginning at noon marking Community Appreciation Day. The second rounds feature two sessions (four games) on Thursday, March 5, including Youth Education Through Sports Day festivities throughout the morning session. Friday’s quarterfinals will continue the Youth Education theme while airing on USA Network, featuring the final eight teams remaining in the bracket in four highly-anticipated matchups. The four advancing teams will play the semifinals on Saturday, March 7 on CBS Sports Network, highlighted by a special recognition of A-10 women’s basketball alumni in celebration of the league’s 50th Anniversary as well as International Women’s Day.
The championship bout will take place on Sunday, March 8 on the ESPN family of networks. George Mason secured the program’s first-ever A-10 title last year with a victory over Saint Joseph’s, after Richmond won its first A-10 Championship the year prior by taking down Rhode Island in the final matchup. Over the last eight years, the Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball Championship has crowned eight different champions.
The Atlantic 10 Conference extended its partnership with the Henrico Sports & Entertainment Authority and Richmond Region Tourism this offseason, securing the Henrico Sports & Events Center as the A-10 Women’s Basketball Championship home through 2029 – continuing the momentum and success built since the event first tipped off at the venue in 2024.
The 2025 A-10 Women’s Basketball Championship had a strong financial impact, bringing over $2.9 million into the Greater Richmond Area.
