WASHINGTON – The six-time defending champions, the George Washington men’s swimming and diving team is the unanimous favorite in the preseason poll, the Atlantic 10 Conference announced on Friday. The seven league coaches voted on the league poll.

The Revolutionaries received all seven first place votes for a total of 49 points. George Mason tallied 38 points and slotted in at second in the poll. St. Bonaventure is just behind the Patriots, collecting 36 points for third place.

George Washington won its sixth consecutive title last season led by former Coach of the Year recipient Chico Rego.  The Revolutionaries have won ten of the last eleven conference championships, winning last year’s crown with 784.83 points.

George Mason comes in second following a second-place finish at the A10 championships last year. Key seniors Ian Rodgers and Alex Crown make their return for the Patriots while members like junior Gabriel Miller will look to take the next step. St. Bonaventure ranks third in the pack, with the headline of the year being new coach Alec Kandt at the helm for the Bonnies.

Davidson comes in fourth with 26 points while La Salle ranks fifth with 24. The Explorers will look to replace the efforts of 2026’s Most Outstanding Swimmer, Felix Jedbratt. Despite the loss, they are once again led by last year’s Coach of the Year, Kerry Smith. Fordham (12) and Saint Louis (11) round out the poll.

The 2027 Swimming and Diving Championship is set for February 17 – 20 at the Hampton Viriginia Aquaplex in Hampton, VA.
