WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Saint Louis junior Kellen Thames the Under Armour Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Davidson freshman Devin Brown was chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played January 12-18.
 
Thames averaged a team-leading 16.0 ppg and led SLU in scoring in both games last week, making a big impact in his playing time as he averaged 18.1 mpg off the bench. A guard from St. Louis, he shot 76.5 percent (13-of-17) from the floor for the week, maintaining his high field goal percentage, which is at 72.2 percent for the season. Thames led the Bills with 16 points in the win against Fordham. He followed that with a game-high 16 points versus Richmond, topping the SLU scoring chart for the third time in the last four games.
 
Brown scored a career high 17 points on .625 (5-for-8) shooting from the field. The guard from Lewis Center, Ohio added, three assists and three rebounds with a block in Davidson’s lone game this week, a road win at George Washington.

Roberts Blumes recorded 21 points and six rebounds, sinking six threes (6-of-10, .600) in Davidson’s win at George Washington  … De’Shayne Montgomery averaged 16 points, two rebounds and two assists, in a 2-0 week for Dayton, including 21 points in a win over Loyola Chicago … George Mason’s Riley Allenspach continued his strong shooting, hitting 7-of-11 (.636) from the field to score 23 points in a win at Loyola … Jerome Brewer, Jr. had a 27-point outing for La Salle where he didn’t miss a shot, going 9-for-9 from the field, 3-for-3 beyond the arc and 6-for-6 at the line in a win over St. Bonaventure  … Jiaden Glover-Toscano had 23 points in Saint Joseph’s win over St. Bonaventure, hitting 8-of-11 (.727) form the field, four of which were 3-pointers.
