WASHINGTON – Atlantic 10 Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade announced Wednesday the hiring of Calvin Claggett as the Assistant Commissioner for External Affairs and Marketing, and Alex Lehmbeck as Associate Director of Communications. The league also welcomed its fellowship class for 2025-26, with Amanda Levine returning as the Communications Fellow and Amaya Burns joining the conference as the Don DiJulia Fellow.

Claggett will be responsible for marketing, ticketing and other external affairs. He will work directly with Atlantic 10 member institutions on the promotion of the conference, marketing of championship events, ticketing and branding. Lehmbeck will serve as the primary media contact for women’s basketball and other selected sports. His role includes working directly with regional and national media and the communications contact on each A-10 campus to promote one of the league’s premier sports.

“I am happy to welcome both Calvin and Alex to the Atlantic 10 team. They both bring a wealth of experience in their roles for marketing, external and communications that will be beneficial for the A-10 and its 14 member institutions,” stated McGlade. “I also want to congratulate Amanda on returning for the 2025-26 year and welcome Amaya as our Don DiJulia fellow. These are critical positions for the league, but also excellent growth opportunities for two outstanding young professionals.”

Claggett was most recently the Director of Marketing and Brand Engagement for the Chattanooga Football Club. He returns to college athletics where he spent the first eight years of his career, working for Xavier as the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing, Yale as the Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement, and his alma mater, East Tennessee State in a variety of roles, including Director for External Operations and serving as the Special Assistant to the Vice President. He began his career at ETSU as an Athletics Marketing Intern while completing his undergraduate degree. Claggett also received his Master’s Degree from ETSU.

Lehmbeck joins the A-10 after three years at Norfolk State University, where he was promoted from Assistant Sports Information Director to Assistant Athletics Director, Sports Communication. His work includes significant increases in social media followers for NSU’s accounts. He also managed the national media interest surrounding the hiring of former NFL star Michael Vick as head football coach. His tenure at Norfolk State also includes serving as the primary contact for women’s and men’s basketball, and in-depth features on NSU student-athletes, coaches and administrators. Lehmbeck is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.

Levine spent the 2024-25 season as the A-10’s Communication Fellow, serving as the primary contact for cross country, track & field, swimming & diving and softball. She also assisted with other sports, notably men’s and women’s basketball. Prior to the A-10, Levine worked for the Trenton Thunder, the Toledo Blade newspaper and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. She is a Kent State graduate who completed her Master’s degree at Massachusetts.

Burns hails from Morgan State University, where she worked as a student intern in athletics in 2023 and 2024. She also worked as a part-time employee for Johns Hopkins Athletics, working with the JHU facilities, operations and event management team. A Morgan State graduate, Burns was a student-athlete with the Bears acrobatics and tumbling team.
