EUGENE, Ore. – Davidson's John Teachman, the 2025 Atlantic 10 Javelin gold medalist, placed seventh at the Nike Outdoor Nationals & USATF U20 Championships.

Teachman's highest mark went for 58.31 meters (191' 03") on his first attempt. This was only 0.92 meters shy of fourth place.

The qualification mark to compete at Nike Outdoor Nationals & USATF U20 Championships in Javelin is 58.50 meters (191' 11"). Teachman's best throw eclipsed 60 meters in eight of his nine previous events this season.

Teachman threw for 63.34 meters at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships this year. This distance would have put him in second overall at the Nike Outdoor Nationals & USATF U20 Championships.

As a refresher, the Mt. Pleasant, S.C. native is the first-ever Wildcat to win gold in the Javelin in the Atlantic 10 and the first Davidson conference champion in the Javelin since Beaux Jones (2007).
