Quinn-Irons, Book, Sitzman Headline Top Atlantic 10 Baseball End of Season Accolades

WASHINGTON – George Mason’s James Quinn-Irons was voted the Atlantic 10 Baseball Player of the Year while Saint Joseph’s Colton Book was voted A-10 Pitcher of the Year and Ethan Stizman from Saint Louis earned recognition as the Defensive Player of the Year. The league announced the three awards Wednesday, along with Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, and the All-Conference, All-Rookie and All-Academic Teams.
 
VCU’s Jacob Lee was tabbed Rookie of the Year while Rhode Island skipper Raphael Cerrato earned the Coach of the Year laurels. The major honors, All-Conference teams and All-Rookie team were voted on by the A-10 baseball head coaches while the All-Academic team was selected by the baseball communications directors.

Quinn-Irons batted .410 during the regular season, battling for the league lead in both batting average and hits. Posting 78 RBI during the regular season, he ranked top three national, as well as top 10 in the nation in hits and top 20 in batting average, and is on the Golden Spikes Semi-Finalist Watch List. A junior from Reston, Va., his slash line reads .410/.515/.724 with an OPS of 1.239. He also has swiped 28 bags this season. A three-time A-10 Player of the Week, Quinn-Irons was also named to the All-Conference First Team as an outfielder.

Book was the league leader in strikeouts with 114, spending the season in the top three in Division I in strikeouts. He also sits seventh in the country in strikeout to walk ratio and 12th in WHIP.  He ranks among the top four in the A-10 in earned run average (3.20), batting average against (.203), and innings pitched (81.2). A junior southpaw from Manheim, Pa., he struck out 13 or more hitters four times and reached double digits five times. Book was named College Baseball Foundation National Pitcher of the Week once and the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week on four occasions. He was also an All-Conference First Team starting pitcher.

Sitzman was a defensive standout at second base, recording a .986 fielding percentage with 90 putouts and 117 assists, helping turn 31 double plays, including 16 in conference play. A senior from Golden, Colo., he committed just one error in conference on 122 chances, and only three errors overall on 210 total chances. He ranked ninth in the A-10 in assists and sixth in double plays turned. Additionally, he posted a .265 batting average with a .400 on-base percentage
 
Lee had a sensational first year for the Rams, with 17 home runs to rank fourth in the A-10, with top 10s in the league in slugging percentage (.620) and RBI (65). A sophomore from Chesterfield, Va., he slashed .288/.390/.620 and earned a spot as the All-Conference Second Team catcher and a member of the All-Rookie Team. He was a two-time A-10 Rookie of the Week selection this season.
 
Cerrato, a Enfield, Conn., native, led the Rams the to A-10 regular season title with a 35-20 overall record and a 22-8 mark in league play. Now in his 11th season as head coach at his alma mater, the former A-10 All-Conference selection earned his third Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year honor.
 
The 2025 Atlantic 10 Baseball Championship is underway at Capital One Park in Tysons, Va. The entirety of the A-10 Baseball Championship will be streamed live via ESPN+.
