WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference tabbed George Mason junior James Quinn-Irons as its Under Armour Baseball Player of the Week. Fordham graduate student Mike Rabayda and Saint Joseph’s redshirt junior Colton Book were named Co-Pitcher of the Week. VCU freshman Jacob Lee received Rookie of the Week. The awards, which were announced on Monday, are for games played from April 21 to April 27. 

Quinn-Irons compiled a .600/ .667/1.333 slash line over a four-game stretch for George Mason including the Patriots decisive 2-1 series win over Rhode Island. Against Mount St. Mary’s, he was 4 for 5 with a pair of home runs, five RBI, three runs scored and three stolen bases. In the three-game series against URI, Quinn-Irons was 5 for 10 with five runs scored, six RBI, one home run and three stolen bases. Quinn-Irons, a center fielder from Reston, Va., went a combined 9 for 15 with 11 RBI, eight runs scored, a triple, three home runs and six stolen bases.  

Rabayda pitched a complete game for Fordham, the Rams’ first since April 3, 2021. He held VCU to one run on six hits and struck out seven. The Richboro, Pa. native allowed the lone run on a solo home run in the 11-1 Fordham victory.  

Book pitched a dominant eight innings in Saint Joseph’s 4-3 walk-off win against Dayton for the series victory. The Manheim, Pa. native allowed two runs on four hits and one walk. Book struck out 13 including a stretch in which he fanned eight of 10 hitters he faced. Book turned in his fourth 13-plus strikeout game of the season. 

Lee compiled a .538/.648/1.385 slash line in VCU’s four-game week. In VCU’s matchup against Virginia Tech, he was 1 for 4 with a double. He had three consecutive multi-hit games in VCU’s series against Fordham. In game one, the Chesterfield, Va. native was 2 for 4 with four RBI and a home run. In the series-finale, the freshman catcher was 2 for 2 with one run scored, four RBI and a home run. Lee finished the four-game series 7 for 13 with three runs scored, nine RBI, two doubles and three home runs.
