Unbeaten UMass Clinches 14th Straight Regular-Season Title, Will Be Top Seed for A-10 Championship

WASHINGTON – Massachusetts played a perfect Atlantic 10 regular season and will serve as the No. 1 overall seed entering next week’s A-10 Women’s Lacrosse Championship at Robins Stadium in Richmond, Va. The six-team, single-elimination tournament begins Thursday, May 1 and will conclude with the championship final on Sunday, May 4, all streamed live via ESPN+.
 
The Minutewomen won the 2025 regular season campaign with a league-best 13-3 overall mark along with an unbeaten 10-0 record in conference competition, cementing the program’s 14th straight regular-season title and 16th overall. UMass receives a bye into the semifinals and will open championship play Friday, May 2 at noon.
 
In addition to Massachusetts, second-seeded Saint Joseph’s earned an opening round bye into the semifinals as well via a 9-1 record against A-10 competition and a 10-7 record overall. The Hawks begin their championship quest at 3:00 pm on Friday afternoon.
 
Davidson earned the third overall seed behind an 8-2 league mark and a 12-4 record overall, and will face No. 6 VCU (7-10 overall, 5-5 A-10) at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 1 in the opening round. The victor will battle No. 2 Saint Joseph’s in Friday’s late semifinal matchup.
 
Richmond is slotted in as the No. 4 overall seed with a 7-3 record in the A-10, and a 10-7 mark overall and will square off against No. 5 St. Bonaventure (10-7, 6-4 A-10) at noon on Thursday for the right to challenge the top-seeded Minutewomen in the semifinals.
 
The winner of the Atlantic 10 Women’s Lacrosse Championship will receive the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, which opens Friday, May 9.
