ORLANDO – Richmond shot an 11-under par Wednesday to surge into the lead after the second round of the 2025 Atlantic 10 Men’s Golf Championship. The Spiders improved their team score by 12 strokes over round one and have a total of 566 after two days at Evermore Orlando Resort’s Cypress Course.
Dayton’s Ben Cors holds the individual lead after shooting a tournament-low 66 Wednesday for a two-round total of 137 (71-66). George Mason’s Vaughn McMeans also shot a 66, equaling Cors’ low round to move up 24 spots and finishing day two tied for eighth.
Davidson is in second place with a five-under 571, followed by Dayton in third with a 573, two strokes behind the Wildcats. Rhode Island is in fourth with a 579 and VCU is fifth with a 582.
Carson Baez, the day one leader, was Richmond’s top finisher, shooting a 140 (68-72) to tie for third with teammate Cole Ekert (70-70). Patrick Isztwan jumped 17 spots to close day two tied for fifth with a 141 (74-67), giving the Spiders three players in the top five. UR’s Jack La Piana tied for 15
th with a 145 (77-68) to finish the Spider scoring.
St. Bonaventure’s Gabe Williams had a hole in one on No. 17, the first ace in the A-10 Championship since Nikia Romanov of La Salle aced the same hole in 2024. Williams finished the round with a 74.
Dayton’s Luke Kahle carded a 139 (71-68) to move into second, just two strokes behind his teammate Cors. Davidson’s Nate Faulkner (69-72) and Rodrigo Barahona (71-70) of George Washington tied Isztwan for fifth with a 141.
Davidson’s Davis Sayman carded a 142 (71-71) to equal McMeans in eighth place, and four players tied for 10
th to round out the top ten scoring. Rhode Island’s Sean Magarian (70-73), GW’s Manuel Barbachano (71-72), Josh Stewart of Davidson (72-71) and VCU’s Caden Scarbrough (74-69) all had a 143.
Loyola Chicago and George Mason are tied at sixth with a 584 while the Revolutionaries are eighth with a two-day total of 588. Saint Joseph’s is in ninth, Fordham, St. Bonaventure and La Salle rounded out the team scores.
The final round begins Thursday at 7:30 am, with the awards ceremony to follow.
