KANSAS CITY — Two Atlantic 10 student-athletes were named to the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer All-America Teams on Friday afternoon by United Soccer Coaches.

VCU senior Moussa Ndiaye landed on the All-America Second Team, while Saint Louis graduate student earned All-America Third Team honors. Abonnel was one of six student-athletes this season to earn All-American accolades for the second time in their career.

A defender from Dakar, Senegal, Ndiaye anchored one of the strongest back lines in the nation. Earning the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year award, Ndiaye helped VCU hold its final three opponents of the regular season to six total shots on goal combined across all three matches, garnering two crucial wins and a tie to push VCU into the A-10 Championship Field. Ndiaye also made significant contributions on the offensive end, scoring the game-winning goal in VCU’s regular season finale against Davidson, before finding the back of the net again in the A-10 Championship first round against Dayton.

A goalkeeper from Aix-en-Provence, France, Abonnel delivered every time the Billikens needed him during a historic 2025 campaign. Earning the Atlantic 10 Goalkeeper of the Year award for the second consecutive season, Abonnel led the league and ranked fifth nationally with 11 shutouts while posting a 0.77 goals against average for the season. He guided the Billikens’ run to the College Cup, making several crucial penalty kick saves in the postseason – including in the A-10 Championship final and NCAA Tournament semifinals.

This year’s All-Americans will be recognized for their accomplishments at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony & Reception on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026 in Philadelphia, Pa. in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention.
