WASHINGTON — The Atlantic 10 Conference named La Salle junior Zach Forehand the Under Armour Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week while VCU senior Moussa Ndiaye earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. Saint Joseph’s freshman Aldo Hernandez was selected as the Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced on Monday for games played from Oct. 13 - Oct. 19.

Forehand racked up five points across a pair of games to help lead La Salle to two victories. The midfielder from McKinney, Texas scored a goal in the Explorers’ 4-0 triumph against Arcadia on Tuesday, before willing La Salle to a 2-1 conference win over George Mason on Saturday. Forehand netted the first goal of the latter matchup, a right-footed shot that trickled past the goalkeeper. After the Patriots tied the game 1-1, Forehand set up the game-winning goal in the final minute of regulation with a perfect pass to teammate Alex Lawrence.

Ndiaye played the full 90 minutes of a 3-0 shutout win at Loyola Chicago on Saturday, anchoring a dominant defensive effort from the Rams. The defender from Dakar, Senegal led a back line that held the Ramblers to just three shots on goal and 10 total shots in the match, moving VCU into the eighth position in the conference standings.

Hernandez, a midfielder from Harbeson, Delaware, produced three points for Saint Joseph’s this week, tallying a goal and an assist. After recording his first career goal in the Hawks’ 3-2 loss to Lehigh on Tuesday, Hernandez contributed a crucial assist in Saint Joseph’s bounce-back 2-1 victory on Saturday against Rhode Island.
