WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference recognized VCU senior Morena Macera as its Under Armour Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week. La Salle junior Abby Boggs and Saint Louis sophomore Abby Schlow were named the Co-Defensive Players of the Week. VCU freshman Lina Behrmann earned the Rookie of the Week honors. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played October 13-19.
 
Macera scored three goals across two VCU wins. The midfielder from Buenos Aires, Argentina, scored a goal in VCU's 4-0 at Lock Haven before scoring two goals in a 3-2 win at Lehigh.
 
Boggs and Schalow, both goalkeepers had an epic head-to-head showdown worthy of co-recognition. Boggs, a Salem, N.J., native, made seven saves and earned the win in a shootout, stopping four shots in the shootout period. Schalow, a Newport Beach, Calif., product, countered with 10 saves.
 
Behrmann recorded a goal and three assists in two VCU wins over the weekend. A midfielder from Hamburg, Germany, she had two assists in VCU's 4-0 win at Lock Haven and followed it up with a goal and an assist in a 3-2 win over Lehigh.
