Saint Joseph's Wins 2024 Atlantic 10 Men's Lacrosse Championship

AMHERST, Mass. -- With the game tied at 11 after three quarters, the No. 1 seeded Saint Joseph's Hawks used a dominant 6-2 fourth quarter to win the 2024 Atlantic 10 Men's Lacrosse Championship and earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Championship Most Outstanding Player Levi Anderson led the way for the Hawks with nine points on seven goals and two assists including four goals in the last 20 minutes of the game to lead the Hawks final push to the title.

Richmond came out hot and took a 5-2 lead after the first quarter behind five different goal scorers. The Hawks would tally the first five goals of the second quarter to take a 7-5 lead and ultimately lead 7-6 at halftime.

The third quarter was back and forth with the top two seeds in the conference trading punches and each team taking a two goal lead but nothing more. Down 11-9, Saint Joseph's would score eight of the next nine goals to seal the victory. 

All-Championship team selection Carter Page had six goals for the Hawks while the Atlantic 10 Defender of the Year Levi Verch recorded seven groundballs and three caused turnovers. 

For Richmond, Lukas Olsson led the scoring with a hat-trick while Jared Chenoy picked up a game-high 13 groundballs.

Saint Joseph's will now await their NCAA Tournament destination, which will be announced tomorrow, Sunday, May 5 at 9:00 p.m. on ESPN2.
