WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named High Point senior Brayden Mayea its Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week. Saint Joseph’s sophomore Tommy Gross was chosen as the league’s Defensive Player of the Week. Richmond freshman Gavin Creo was selected as Rookie of the Week. The awards were announced Monday and are for games played April 1-7.
Mayea, an attacker from Windsor, Ontario, became High Point's all-time leader in career goals with 160. He collected the 160th in his fifth goal in a win over St. Bonaventure. He led the game with five goals and four assists for nine points.
SJU’s goalkeeper, Gross recorded 10 saves in a win against UMass, allowing just seven goals for a .588 save percentage. The victory marked the fourth game of the season with double digit saves for the Silver Spring, Md., native.
Creo, an attacker from Rockville Centre, N.Y., recorded two assists to tally two points in Richmond's 21-8 win over Hobart Saturday.
