WASHINGTON -- The Saint Joseph's duo of graduate students Campbell McIntyre and Tommaso Rossetto earned Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Offensive and Rookie Weekly honors on Monday. Saint Louis senior Jeremi Abonnel was named the Defensive Player of the Week. The awards are for games played Oct. 21 - Oct. 27 and was announced on Monday.
McIntyre was responsible for all three goals for the Hawks in the 3-2 win over Rhode Island. The Auckland, New Zealand native registered two assists and a goal for his first four points of his career and provided the game-winning assist in the 87th minute for the first conference win of the season for the Hawks.
Abonnel was is net for a pair of Billikens shoutouts last week. The Aix-en-Provence, France native turned away five shots as the Billikens earned a hard-fought scoreless draw at nationally ranked Missouri State on Wednesday. On Saturday, he made one save and was sharp on crosses as the Billikens blanked George Washington 5-0. For the season, Abonnel leads the A-10 in shutouts (8) and goals against average (0.60).
Rossetto came off the bench for 34 minutes in the win over Rhode Island, scoring the game-winning goal in the 87th minute to give the Hawks a 3-2 win over the Rams, the first game-winning goal of his career and just the second goal of the season.
