KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Duquesne men's soccer team, off to a 6-0-1 start with victories over Michigan, James Madison and Loyola Chicago, earned a spot in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 for the first time in 17 years, tying for the 25th overall position with Louisville in the Sept. 20 poll. Additionally, Dayton fell seven spots to No. 24 following a 1-0-1 week on the pitch.

The Dukes, who made program history behind a 5-0-0 opening to the 2022 campaign, matched the school record for most games without a loss to kick off a season, a mark set in 2002 (5-0-2) and tied by current head coach Chase Brooks' Dukes in 2019 (6-0-1). Duquesne handed Loyola Chicago its first defeat in Saturday's Atlantic 10 opener, and serves as the first DU team to be ranked since the 2005 A-10 regular season co-champions were slotted at No. 24 in the Nov. 8 poll.

Meanwhile, the Flyers managed to knock off Eastern Illinois via a 2-0 mark on Tuesday, Sept. 13 before settling for a 1-1 draw in Saturday's conference opener against Saint Joseph's, good for Dayton's first non-win of the young season.
