NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference recognized Fordham junior Anna DeWolfe as the league’s Women’s Basketball Player of the Week while Saint Joseph’s freshman Talya Brugler garnered her third overall – now a fifth consecutive for the Hawks – Rookie of the Week honors. The awards were announced Monday following the conclusion of the 12th week of contests played Jan. 24-30.
 
DeWolfe, a guard out of Cumberland, Maine, guided Fordham to a pair of home victories over Saint Joseph's and St. Bonaventure this past week, closing out the successful 2-0 stretch averaging 21.0 points and 1.5 rebounds with a total seven assists and three steals as well. The junior dropped a game-high 22 on in Wednesday’s clash with the Hawks behind a 10-of-19 (.526) shooting performance with four assists and two steals before registering her 13th 20-point game of the year on Saturday, adding three more dimes, a steal and a block against the Bonnies.
 
Brugler served as a key component for Saint Joseph’s throughout back-to-back tough league matchups, racking up a team-best 11 points against both Fordham and Massachusetts while contributing 5.0 rebounds per game and three total assists. The Nazareth, Pa., native shot 43.8 percent (7-of-16) overall, 37.5 percent (3-of-8) from long range and 83.3 percent (5-of-6) at the charity stripe.

Adelaide Fuller tallied 13.0 points and 2.0 boards per game across a split 1-1 week for Davidson, including a strong 17-point showing in Sunday’s loss to league-leader Dayton … Wildcats’ freshman Issy Morgan put together a decent week on the hardwood as well, contributing 8.0 points and 3.5 rebounds with five total assists and two steals … Dayton sophomore Makira Cook registered 16 points in each of the Flyers’ road victories this past week at Richmond and Davidson, tacking on 6.5 boards per contest with four assists and four steals as UD maintained an undefeated mark in A-10 play … Duquesne’s Tess Myers proved essential for the Dukes as the team logged their first 2-0 week of conference play this season, dropping 17.5 points per game on a 41.4 percent (12-of-29) overall clip along with a 9-of-23 (.391) showing from beyond the arc … Taylor Jameson led the way for George Mason as the Patriots picked up their first league victory of the year en route to a 1-1 split for the week, averaging 13.5 points and 6.0 boards with six total assists … George Mason freshman Paula Suarez posted 6.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game, helping lift the Patriots to a victory in the Revolutionary Rivalry over George Washington … Mayowa Taiwo pulled down 12.5 boards per game while tacking on 7.5 points across an 0-2 stretch for George Washington, swiping four steals and dishing out a pair of dimes along the way … La Salle’s Gabby Crawford concluded an 0-2 week for the Explorers averaging 14.5 points and 7.0 rebounds, shooting at a notable 59.1 percent (13-of-22) mark overall … Massachusetts senior Destiney Philoxy recorded 12 total assists as the Minutewomen wrapped up a split 1-1 week, contributing 11.0 points and 4.5 rebounds as well … Richmond’s Grace Townsend played a key role in the Spiders finishing up the week at 1-1 overall with an initial loss to Dayton before topping Saint Louis on the road, averaging 15.5 points and 6.5 boards with a noteworthy nine assists … Asianae Johnson paced the Bonnies to a 1-1 mark for the week as the senior racked up 22.0 points per game, initially battling past La Salle at home before falling narrowly to Fordham in a tough road test … St. Bonaventure freshman Taylor Napper logged 7.5 points with 3.0 rebounds per game across a 1-1 stretch for the Bonnies, notably contributing a 13-point, five-rebound performance in Wednesday’s victory over La Salle … Natalie McNeal posted a strong week for Saint Louis behind a 15.0-point, 6.0-board average, helping the Billikens to an initial road win over VCU before faltering back at home to Richmond.
