NEW YORK, N.Y. – Atlantic 10 men's soccer programs earned a total seven selections throughout Tuesday's Major League Soccer SuperDraft, as defending champion Saint Louis paced the league with six overall – four of which came inside the Top 16 – while Dayton garnered one late in the second round.
Freshman Isaiah Parker kicked things off for SLU at third overall (FC Dallas) before sophomore Kipp Keller (fifth overall to Austin FC), sophomore Patrick Schulte (12th overall to the Columbus Crew) and junior Simon Becher (16th overall to Vancouver Whitecaps FC) rounded out the opening sequence for the Billikens.
Dayton senior Kingsford Adjei concluded the second round as the 56th overall pick to the New York Red Bulls before SLU junior Chandler Vaughn clocked in at 60th overall to the LA Galaxy. Billikens redshirt junior Chase Niece served as the final A-10 selection at 66th overall to FC Dallas, joining teammate and fellow 2022 draftee Isaiah Parker.
Saint Louis managed to claim both the Atlantic 10 regular-season and conference championship titles throughout a banner year for the program, advancing as far as the NCAA Quarterfinals – a first for Saint Louis since the 2003 campaign – before falling to second-seeded and eventual national runner-up Washington.
Notably, the 2021 Billikens clinched a spot in the MLS record books behind their strong showing in the 2022 SuperDraft, as the team's four first-round selections matches a mark set by 2010 Wake Forest and 2011 Akron.
