NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Rhode Island senior Sonny Ulliana as A-10 Baseball Player of the Week, while Fordham senior Matt Mikulski earned Pitcher Week honors. URI Freshman Addison Kopack was selected as the league's Rookie of the Week The awards, presented by BioSteel, were announced Monday and are for games played April 19-25.

Ulliana batted .500 (8-for-16) with one home run, one triple and two doubles while helping Rhode Island go 4-1 on the week... The catcher/designated hitter from South Hackensack, N.J., had a .636 on-base percentage and slugged .938, as he also drew four walks and was hit by two pitches. The Mohegan Lake, N.Y., southpaw struck out 15 batters for his fifth double-digit strikeout performance of the season. The only run he surrendered, a solo homer, ended an impressive scoreless innings streak of 26.0 innings.

Kopack, a Cumberland, R.I., native, started all four games against Massachusetts and batted .459 (6-for-14) with three triples, five runs scored and three runs batted in. A catcher/designated hitter like his teammate Ulliana, he scored at least once in all four games. With the team trailing 7-4 in the bottom of the seventh inning in the series finale, Kopack hit a two-run triple to get the Rams within one run, and he later scored the tying run of an eventual 10-8 victory.
