NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference has named Dayton junior Alyssa Cacini its Softball Player of the Week, while George Washington redshirt junior Sierra Lange and freshman Alexa Williams earned Pitcher and Rookie of the Week, respectively. The awards, announced Tuesday and presented by Biosteel, are for games played March 22-28.

Cacini was an offensive juggernaut during Dayton's 4-1 week, posting four multi-hit games and recording a .667 batting average, .667 on-base percentage and a 1.733 slugging percentage. Eight of her 10 hits on the week were for extra bases including four home runs and she collected eight RBI on the week as well. In Dayton's 7-3 win over St. Bonaventure in the Flyers' A-10 opener, the infielder from Arlington Heights, Ill., knocked out two home runs and in Friday's night cap 2-1 win she batted three doubles.

Lange went 2-0 with a 1.17 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 12 innings over three starts in a four-game sweep of Saint Louis. The hurler from Plano, Texas, was dominant in the series opener, matching a season high with 10 strikeouts while allowing one run on three hits over five innings in a 9-1 victory. She also tossed a five-inning complete game in the series finale, ceding just one run on just two hits with five Ks over five strong frames.

Williams posted hits in all four games of GW's weekend sweep of Saint Louis, finishing with a .500/.585/.900 slash line with seven RBIs and five runs scored. Three of her five hits went for extra bases with a triple and two doubles. The rookie from El Cajon, Calif., had a pair of hits, knocked in three runs and scored twice in the series-opening 9-1 victory. She had a two-run double in the second game of the series and a two-run triple in Sunday's opener as part of a 15-0 victory in five innings.
