DAYTON, Ohio. – The third-seeded Dayton Flyers blanked the sixth-seeded La Salle Explorers in the Atlantic 10 Men’s Soccer Championship Quarterfinals held Sunday at Dayton’s Baujan Field. 

With the win, the Flyers (12-7 overall, 6-2 in the A-10), will advance to play second-seeded VCU in next week’s semifinal game. 

The first goal of the game came at the thirty-three minute mark as sophomore; Kingsford Adjei sent a far shot to the back of the net for his ninth goal of the season. 

Senior Daniel Dos Santos scored the second goal of the game for Dayton, assisted by seniors Laurel Aug and Dennis Ntsin, only eight minutes into the second half. Adjei boosted the Flyers’ lead to three with a goal in the 73rd minute. 

Ten minutes later, Adjei assisted junior Jonas Fjeldberg for the final goal of the game.

Dayton tallied 12 shots in the game, while La Salle registered 17 shots. Federico Barrios, the Flyers’ goalkeeper, tallied four saves to go with the shutout win, while Carlos Mora had one save in 83 minutes.
