NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — The 2016 Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Academic All-Conference teams were announced on Friday, comprised of student-athletes who were selected based on their performance in the pool, as well as in the classroom. To be nominated, swimmers and divers must have a GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale) for their entire academic career.
Making up the Men’s Swimming and Diving Academic All-Conference team are Davidson’s Riley League and Colin MacKay, Fordham’s Steve Sholdra, George Mason’s Matthew Lynch, George Washington’s Ben Fitch, La Salle’s Jacob Bartosiewicz and Fabian Bergman, Massachusetts’ Thomas Brennan and Kyle Viera and Saint Louis’ Shane Cano.
On the women’s side, Davidson’s Elise Lankiewicz, Duquesne’s Taylor Kane and Lexi Santer, George Mason’s Erin Schulte, George Washington’s Hannah Kopydlowski and Lauren Steagall, Massachusetts’ Jocelyn Yuen, Richmond’s Melissa Ross, St. Bonaventure’s Tanja Kirmse and Saint Louis’ Elaine Mahon complete the Women’s Swimming & Diving Academic All-Conference team.
