UMass Falls to No. 1 Maryland in NCAA Women's Lacrosse Action

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - After a back-and-forth start to the game, top-seeded and No. 1 ranked Maryland used a six-goal run during the first half to break open the contest en route to a 19-8 win over the UMass women's lacrosse team in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday. The Minutewomen end the season with a 19-2 overall record tying as the program's second-most wins for a single year.

The six-goal run for the Terps was the difference maker after the game was tied 3-3 in the first four minutes of play. During the stretch, Maryland held the Minutewomen scoreless for nearly 21 minutes.
