RICHMOND, Va. – Top-seeded George Washington advanced to the finals of the 2015 Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball Championship with a 72-60 victory over fourth-seeded Fordham on Saturday afternoon.

George Washington will face the winner of Saturday’s second semifinal in the A-10 Championship Game between Dayton and Duquesne, Sunday at 1:00 p.m. live from the Richmond Coliseum on ESPNU.

GW, which improves to 28-3 overall, was led by four players in double-figures, including Jonquel Jones who had 16 points and 15 rebounds. Hannah Schaible also had 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds.  Chakecia Miller added 11 points in the win, while Caira Washington recorded 10 points for GW.

A back-and-forth first half included five ties and four lead changes in the first 14 minutes, but back-to-back buckets by Miller sparked a 10-0 GW run that gave the Colonials the lead for good, 27-19, and a basket by Schaible right before the buzzer made it an eight-point game at halftime, 33-25.

The Colonials led by six, 40-34, at the 17:19 mark, but a steal by Washington and basket by Chase ignited a decisive 16-5 surge as GW took a game-high 17-point lead, 56-39, with 10:20 left. Fordham (20-11) cut it to eight with 2:50 to play, but Miller answered with a jumper and the Colonials made 6-of-8 free throws in the final two minutes to seal the win.
