INDIANAPOLIS – University of Dayton senior guard Jordan Sibert has been selected to be a part of the 2015 State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships Thursday evening in Indianapolis. Sibert will be one of eight competitors in the Marines Men’s Three-Point Championship.
The Slam Dunk & 3-Point Contest will be televised live on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET. It will be held at Hinkle Fieldhouse on the campus of Butler University.
A First Team All-Atlantic 10 performer, Sibert had two of the top six single-season marks for three-point field goals made in Flyer basketball history. Even though he played just two seasons at Dayton, he ended his career seventh in career treys made (163) for the Flyers.
Sibert, a native of Cincinnati, was a vital cog in UD earning five NCAA tournament wins in the last two years. Dayton went to the Elite Eight in 2014, and won two more games this season.
Dayton is one of seven teams to have five NCAA tournament wins in the last two seasons. The others are Arizona, UConn, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State and Wisconsin.
Sibert, the team’s only senior, led the Flyers in scoring (16.1), minutes (34.4), three pointers (80,) FT% (.788, 145-184) and steals (62). He is just the second University of Dayton men’s basketball player to reach 1,000 points as a Flyer in just two seasons wearing the Red & Blue.
The Princeton High School product was also named First Team NABC All-District 4 and selected to the Puerto Rico Tip-Off All-Tournament Team.
The 27th annual State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3‐Point Championships includes the following four competitions: the Marines Men’s Three‐Point Championship, the Women’s Three‐Point Championship, the Fitbit Battle of the Champions (Men’s Winner vs. Women’s Winner) and the Denny’s Slam Dunk Championship.
