Tom Waterman serves as Senior Associate Commissioner of Championship Administration for the Atlantic 10 Conference, where he oversees championship operations and sport administration for the Conference’s 21 Olympic sports. In his role, he leads the A-10 Men’s Basketball Championship, the Conference’s premier championship event, while managing regular season and championship operations, officiating oversight, conference scheduling, and event execution.
Waterman plays a key role in enhancing the student-athlete experience and advancing the Atlantic 10’s championship brand. He oversees the development of Olympic sport conference schedules, championship branding and signage, and the Conference’s awards program. He also serves as a staff liaison to the A-10 Sport Competition and Officiating Committees, helping support the continued success and competitive integrity of Conference events.
Beginning his 16th year with the Atlantic 10, Waterman joined the league office in 2011 as a Communications Intern and has held a variety of roles during his tenure. He transitioned into championship administration in 2019 after serving as the Conference’s primary media contact for women’s basketball and select Olympic sports. A graduate of Elon University, Waterman has built a career focused on championship excellence, operational leadership, and supporting Atlantic 10 student-athletes and member institutions.
