Calvin Claggett serves as Associate Commissioner for External Affairs and Marketing for the Atlantic 10 Conference. After joining the conference in August 2025 as Assistant Commissioner, he was promoted to Associate Commissioner in July 2026. In his role, Claggett oversees the conference's multimedia rights relationship with JMI Sports, as well as ticketing, marketing, merchandise, and licensing initiatives. He works collaboratively with member institutions and external partners to strengthen the Atlantic 10 brand, enhance fan engagement, and drive strategic revenue opportunities.
Claggett brings a diverse background in collegiate athletics and professional sports, with extensive experience in marketing, brand development, fan engagement, and external operations. His leadership focuses on elevating the conference's visibility while creating innovative experiences that connect fans with Atlantic 10 programs and student-athletes. His experience across multiple levels of athletics provides a well-rounded perspective on building strong brands and cultivating meaningful partnerships.
Prior to joining the Atlantic 10, Claggett served as Director of Marketing and Brand Engagement for Chattanooga FC of MLS NEXT Pro. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at Xavier University and Yale University, directing marketing and fan engagement initiatives. He also spent several years at his alma mater, East Tennessee State University, serving in multiple roles, including Director of External Operations and Special Assistant to the Vice President for Equity and Inclusion, where he helped lead the department's diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Claggett earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees from East Tennessee State University.
