WASHINGTON — The Atlantic 10 Conference has announced its weekly honors in field hockey. The awards are for games played from August 31-September 6.
 
Offensive Player of the Week: Clara Larripa (Sr., Buenos Aires, Argentina), Richmond
Defensive Player of the Week: Abby Boggs (Sr., Salem, N.J.), La Salle
Rookie of the Week: Abril Peroni (Fr., Cordoba, Argentina), Richmond
 
Clara Larripa finished with four goals and an assist to lead the Spiders to a 2-0 road weekend, tallying the game-winning goals in both. Against American, she broke up a defensive battle in the second half by scoring on a penalty corner. Two days later, against Longwood, the senior took a staggering 15 shots—putting 12 of them on goal—and collected her sixth collegiate hat trick while adding an assist as UR rolled to a 6-0 victory. Richmond is now 3-1 on the young season, with the only loss coming to No. 6 Duke.
 
Abby Boggs tallied a career-high 21 saves on Friday at Cornell, then followed that up two days later with 13 more stops at Colgate. Eight of the senior’s stops against the Raiders came in the fourth quarter, allowing the Explorers to push the game to overtime and eventually to penalty strokes where they fell, 4-2.
 
Abril Peroni repeated as Rookie of the Week, stuffing home a pass from Valen Luna Paratore for her fifth goal of the season in the 49th minute of Richmond’s win at Longwood. The freshman put two shots on goal in the victory.
