INDIANAPOLIS – Candy Cage, the Atlantic 10’s Associate Commissioner for Women’s Basketball, has been appointed to the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) Selection Committee, the NCAA announced.
Cage, who has been with the A10 since 2023, is one of four new members appointed to the WBIT Selection Committee ahead of the 2026-27 season. The other new members are Bonnie Henrickson (UC Santa Barbara), Joe McKeown (Northwestern), and Natasha Oakes (West Virginia).
“We proudly congratulate Candy on this well-deserved opportunity,” said Atlantic 10 Commissioner Dan Leibovitz. “She will bring passion and a wealth of knowledge and experience to this committee. Candy will embrace this role, and I have no doubt that she will add tremendous value to the WBIT.”
The eight-member committee is made up of former women’s basketball head coaches and current or former administrators. The group is tasked with selecting the 32-team field for the event, which will hold its fourth edition of the tournament in 2027.
George Mason represented the A10 in the 2026 WBIT, earning the No. 3 seed after participating in the inaugural 2024 edition as well. Davidson (2025) and Saint Joseph’s (2024, 2025) have also competed in the WBIT.
The other WBIT selection committee members are Barbara Burke (Iowa, Tulane, Eastern Illinois, Wyoming), Cindy Fisher (San Diego), Harry Perretta (Villanova), and Lisa Stockton (Tulane).
